Description : Bistro Jacques delivers in true Gallic style. This rustic French restaurant is situated on the corner of Hardman Street and Hope Street, in the heart of theatre land and the university district. The d?cor has a classic bistro feel with wooden tables and chairs, candles in wine bottles and walls smattered with prints by French artists. The warm, friendly and inviting service is accompanied by traditional French music helping create a vibrant and bustling atmosphere. There is a good selection of ?entrees? and ?plats de resistance? and the menu boasts some French favourites such as Coq Au Vin and Boeuf Bourguignon, as well as a variety of Mediterranean dishes. The menu changes daily making most of fresh market produce. At the weekend the bistro opens at 9.30 am for ?Le Petit Dejeuner?, and at 12pm every day for the 3 course ?Lunch Offre? for ?7.95 and the 3 course ?Pre-Theatre Offre? for ?10.95 (Sun - Thurs, 4.30 - 7pm, Fri & Sat, 4.30 - 6.30pm). Not to mention the infamous ?Tuesday Night Wine and Dine?, 2 courses from the A La Carte menu plus a bottle of house wine per person for only ?13.95 (available all night). Theatre-goers, students, shoppers and the business crowd all congregate at Bistro Jacques, creating an ecclectic mix and a wonderful bohemian feel.
